Should babies before the age of 6 recite Tang poetry?
Rare mothers have this worry: watching other children will recite Tang poems one by one when they are very young. Their children have taught them for a long time but haven’t remembered a few. Is their child stupid than others?
The chief physician of Pediatrics of Pediatrics Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital of a University of Chinese Medicine pointed out that many parents believe that children learn Tang poetry, and arithmetic is the only way to learn new knowledge. In fact, children under 6 should actually learn from daily life.
For children, whether they are learning Tang poetry or advertising words, it is a kind of parody study of language, which can also meet their needs of imitation.
Children can go back and forth with the advertising words on TV because the advertising words are full of emotion and lead to vivid pictures. Naturally, they are more likely to attract children’s interest than the abstract and generalized words in the poems.
Of course, children can also be taught to memorize Tang poems that are simple, easy to understand, but don’t force preschool children to memorize Tang poems that are very difficult to understand.
Because most of the children ‘s learning is based on their interests, some children love to recite Tang poetry at first because they are curious about new things. However, if the parents use a long-term mechanical method, the child follows the mechanical method of learning a sentence.Their novelty will gradually disappear, and their interest will shift.
Director Zhang reminded that children before the age of 3 are mainly based on mechanical memory, so parents do not hinder teaching their children some catchy rhymes. If you add some performances, you will be more interested in children.
At the same time, children before the age of 6 should be encouraged to play more, to see, to see the world, and to discover children’s interests and strengths in daily life.
